This school was established under the foundation of respected Meegoda Pemananda thero, as government school & a mixed school in the village of Ihala Biyanwila- Kadawatha in Kelaniya zone of Gampaha district. It was established in 1940 as the name of Sri Pemananda Maha Vidyalaya. Since then, mother of Pemananda has been feeding children's education through knowledge, attitudes and talents.
